Engaging Managers combines behavioural insight with hands-on leadership skills, so managers leave not just with awareness, but with a concrete plan to act on.
How does it differ from other leadership courses?
Rather than a day focused inward on the manager, Engaging Managers is built around their teams. Managers still gain self-awareness, but the emphasis throughout is on what they do next for the people they lead. The relationship between leader and team is the single biggest driver of engagement, so that is where the workshop puts its attention.
Who’s it for?
This workshop is for anyone who leads a team. Especially if:
You want to understand what truly drives your people and develop a stronger day-to-day relationship with them
You want to know your teams’ strengths, opportunities for improvement and potential tensions
You want higher performance through clearer objectives and consistent coaching
You want reduced turnover as employees feel valued, developed, and fairly treated
You want leadership training that doesn’t just begin and end in the classroom
What you’ll walk away with
Each participant leaves with a personal action plan — commitments on 1:1s, coaching, recognition, and development — built directly from their own and their team's mojo results, ready to put into practice the next day.
Core content focuses on the skills that translate insight into impact:
Effective, honest 1:1 conversations
Regular, constructive feedback
Setting clear objectives that connect each person's work to organisational goals
Building habits of recognition and fairness that help managers get to know each team member as an individual
Developing psychological safety and trust, using data to build individual development plans
How it works
Before the session, each manager - and their direct reports - complete an individual mojo map: a short assessment using the mojo motivation and productivity platform. These combine into a team mojo map, giving each manager a clear, plain-language view of what drives them and what drives their people, alongside current satisfaction levels.
The workshop is structured around the ACT methodology:
Acknowledge
Collaborate
Take One Step Forward
Managers begin by acknowledging where they and their teams stand today, using their mojo insights to identify strengths, motivation drivers, and opportunities. They then collaborate on defining where they want their teams to be, before committing to a practical, personalised action plan.
The two ideas you’ll carry forward
1. Leveraging intrinsic motivation is what powers people productivity.
2. Managers who ACT will develop loyal and engaged teams.
The workshop will be run periodically as an open, bookable session. It can also be delivered in-house for an individual organisation's leadership or management population. Get in touch if you’d like to know more.
